Since 2011-2014 Brook has been making drawings and sculptural work outside in the landscape in the semi desert of North West Namibia, travelling with Himba-Herero guides. The absolute nature of the light and shadow began to influence the work in relation to the natural forms and materials she found. Most of the work is transient being made in remote river beds using carving tools such as spades, mattocks and pick axes, or building with locally found stone.
