The drawings are a series of experiments with materials and gestures that enable a different form of mark making. A photographic still expresses arrested movement, a moment in time. The moving image is more like a drawing unfolding through time. A balance between what is controlled and what happens by chance. These gestures are often discovered and then explored in the process of making the sculptural work.
